Metal drill Cobalt RN, DIN338, Ø4.0 0061300400100 Alpen
A series of cobalt drills ALPEN HSS 5% Cobalt RN, DIN 338 RN of industrial quality for drilling stainless, acid-resistant, alloyed and non-alloyed steel with a strength limit of ≤1300 N/mm², gray iron, ductile iron, copper alloys, nickel, graphite, composite alloys.
The special shape of the tip with a split point, and ALPEN's signature multi-faceted sharpening, ensures accurate drilling without burring and a faster start of drilling, even on inclined surfaces, pipes or cylinders. The precision manufacturing and special sharpening of the drill requires 50% less effort than traditional HSS drills.
The tip is sharpened at an angle of 130°, allowing to drill particularly hard grades of steel. Also, the tip of the drill is several microns wider and tapers to the shank, which significantly saves the battery charge when drilling with a hand tool - more work on one battery charge.
Spiral grooves with an optimal angle of inclination provide easy removal of chips, better supply of lubricating fluid to the drill tip and less heating, this is achieved due to the dedicated cutting edge of a smaller area from the main mass of the auger.
The high-quality HSS (high speed steel + 5% Cobalt) high-speed steel, from which the drill is made, allows you to make precise holes in both soft and hard materials. Thanks to the special alloy from which this type of drill is made, it can work in temperature regimes even up to 600°
The signature feature of ALPEN is a complex method of hardening where the drill is divided into several zones that undergo different heat treatment, for example, the cutting tip, the host and the barrel of the drill have different hardness and malleability. That is why the shank of ALPEN HSS 5% Cobalt RN drills has a drilled ring mark, so as not to confuse the shank with the tip in the process of milling the auger. Thanks to this hardening technology, the drill is flexible and at the same time, where it is needed, extremely hard - this is important when drilling holes manually.
Thanks to their innovations, ALPEN drills are maximally adapted for drilling with hand tools, especially with a battery drive. Since it is almost impossible to perfectly balance a hand tool during the drilling process, the elasticity of the drill protects it from breaking during bending, pinching or incorrect positioning by the operator of the tool itself.
For the best result, it is recommended to use the optimal speed and lubricant and coolant
